#381 – The music is different here

Thu 10 Jun 10 - by oemebamo - 9 Comments

These are some of my favourite soul and jazz records, it’s that simple. I looked at the soul & jazz records I had in my collection, picked out my absolute favourites and tried to glue some of those together in a 2 hour music only (*) mix that made sense. Did you know Beyondjazz started as a section of a weekly classic jazz show? From Latin to Soul to 50’s Jazz and Spiritual Jazz, this show brings you so much classic tunes.
Couldn’t resist to also sneak in two tunes from the just released Timeless DVDs, one from the José James & Jef Neve collab and a brand new tune from Build An Ark’s new lp.
I hope you enjoy. – oemebamo

    oemebamo, great great selection!

Could you please include starting times in your next show, cause it’s so much easier to track back the beauties you included 😉

@DeLuca: Thanks! Each block in the tracklist is about half an hour. Anything in particular you’re searching for?

No, it’s fine, I figured it all out, just took me some time. I just love the track by Moe Koffman, I only knew the rework by the Visioneers, but I’m afraid I have to look after the original as well 😉

cheers and thanks for this great set.

Rain or shine, who cares when Tammi Terrell works her magic. That song always puts a hop in my step. Lovely selection. Cheers,
